Our owner and head coach, David Bergman, grew up in the Virginia Beach, VA, area. His passion for martial arts and training has spanned nearly 20 years. Having learned a variety of styles from several different instructors, David is excited to offer MMA classes back to the community that raised him. Can I Do MMA With No Experience?
Yes! There is no prerequisite to starting your mixed martial arts journey. In the foundations (or beginner) class, you will be learning the basics alongside your partners. As you advance, you will continue to build upon that knowledge and experience. However, you do not need to have any prior knowledge to start.
Is 30 Too Old To Start MMA?
There is never a perfect time to start training. Whether you are training for fun or fitness, you will continue to can skills and muscle during your training. Whether you are 15, 50, or 30, you will have a unique training experience. With the correct mentality, age is just a number.
How Quickly Can I Learn MMA?
In this type of training, consistency is key. By attending class 2-3 times per week, you will gain skills faster than if you only attended once a week. At Katalyst Krav Maga, we teach on a rotating schedule with four primary topics. Only coming once a month would mean that you would miss ¾ of the curriculum! While there is no perfect timeline, there is also no set end. Mixed Martial Arts is forever evolving, and there are always new techniques to learn.
